FRESH FINDS

2022

The opposite of BookTok.

SOMEWHERE BETWEEN HELLO AND GOODBYE

Aisling Magie

We follow the journey of Joy and Felix whose minds are connected from birth, as they traverse the far reaches of the universe. Dow's simplistic and straightforward writing style allows her to tackle issues such as race, classism, and love with grace and empathy.

BLACK OUT

Multiple Authors

I don't usually read ensemble books. Nothing wrong with them, its just that the different writing styles can be somewhat jarring for me as reader, taking me out of the book. This book does not suffer from that fate, quite the opposite. While the writing styles are distinct the stories slide seamlessly into one another -- each distinct voice is like a thread of a tapestry.

A MARVELOUS LIGHT

Freya Marske

I flew through this book, and then instantly regretted it because then there was no more of this book to read. If you are looking for a historical fiction novel featuring magical realism and a (spicy) mlm love story, which sound odd specific now that I've typed it out, this book is perfect for you. Did I mention it has a sequel coming out later this year?
